Fresh start

a an action-packed spring, it is a real pleasure to announce that Paal 91 has undergone a real metamorphosis! For an entire month, Anne, Gert and a team of dedicated painters worked full-time to give the cottage a completely new look, both inside and out.

The inside of the cottage has been completely refreshed with a palette of light colours, interspersed with beautiful nuances of pale green. The once yellow bricks of the chimney now shine in bright white, while the ceiling has been transformed from a pink hue to a bright white. The exterior of the cottage has been rewhitened and painted a vibrant monumental green. Anne and Gert have also redecorated and tidied the interior, giving the cottage a renewed, mature and wonderfully bright ambiance, all ready to welcome guests for a wonderful holiday experience!

To reduce the load on the cottage, we reduced the maximum number of guests from six to five, giving up a bedroom upstairs: that is now a storage room. We noticed that the cottage was taking too much strain from intensive use, especially with the sharing of bathroom and kitchen between a larger number of guests. So we also reduced the number of dogs we accept from two to a maximum of one, with the possibility of allowing two small dogs, after consultation, especially if they do not shed. The faithful four-legged friends also proved to have a great impact on the cottage's 'wellbeing'.

In addition, we have brought in a new cleaning team, and we are confident that the cottage will be tiptop after each changeover. Of course, should guests still notice anything that is not to their liking, we would love to hear about it immediately!

To meet the needs of our guests even better, we will also visit the cottage in person more often. We have found that this is usually appreciated and it provides an opportunity to answer questions and meet each other. Fortunately, Jet and Borre live on the island, so that can be arranged!

We are hugely looking forward to hearing from our guests and can't wait to welcome them. But before that happens, photographer Justin will take beautiful pictures and the websites need to be updated with all the new information. We expect to start renting out our renovated little paradise again from mid-April 2024.
